Inauguration of Swabhiman Jagruti Exhibition at the Shabarikumbh

Swabhiman Jagruti Exhibition was inaugurated with lot of pomp and show yesterday around 4 p.m. at Shabari Kumbh located in the Vanvasi area of South Gujarat. This efficacious exhibition was dedicated towards fostering of self respect and self reliance of the Vanvasis of the area.

A true replica of the Shiv Ganga project being undertaken by the self reliant Vanwasi brothers of Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh has been beautifully presented. The first phase of the Shiv Ganga project began in the year 2005. During this phase, water harvesting through check dams, Nalas and Springs, Creating of ponds for storage, recharging of bore wells and deepening them etc. was undertaken through Shramdan by approx 5000 people for 80 days. In all 1568 such works were completed, which presents a great example of self reliance.
Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad, Madhya Pradesh has completed works of 12 hostels, 1 hospital and 5 tourist centers under their Swawalamban Prakalp.
Vanvasi progressive empowerment scheme South Gujarat, is undertaken in totally Vanvasi district of Dang. Scientific planning has been undertaken through contact programmes, selections and training with due regards to the final results of the same.
Contact Programme :
Only such youth who are desirous of bringing about progress of their villages and who want to stay in their villages, will be contacted.
Selection :
Selected youth will be given training in various works for a month.
Training :
Three days’ selection camps will be organized at 25-30 places in sets of villages.
Result :
The trained youth will be duely advised and encouraged where by progress of their villages in different directions could be achieved at the same time conservation and furtherance of their original culture will be brought about.
